Today is my parents' 37th anniversary, so the kitties broke out the balloons. No one seems too worried about where the balloons are headed or how the crazy kitties will get down.... (Well, except for Comet, who is commonly worried about most situations)
Comet can't wait for his favorite comic book to show up in the mail every month. If only the other kitties knew that his quiet, timid demeanor was just a cover for his secret missions throughout the universe on behalf of kitty-kind.
Today, The Kitties decide to throw an '80s costume party. Ashes decides to be Pee-Wee because she loves The Dance. Mother Kitty comes as Olivia in an effort to also get a workout. B.J. claims that the "B" in "B.J." stands for Billy Idol. Norman shows up as Devo because it gave him the excuse to empty the flowerpot in the other room. Gordon doesn't want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career (or process anything sold, bought, or processed). Unable to pin down a defining look for Duran Duran, Simon offers to sing all of their songs whether the kitties want to hear them or not. Meanwhile, Comet is glued to the television, as MTV is having an '80s video marathon.
My 3-year-old nephew, Liam, is obsessed with Cars. After watching the cartoon several times with him, The Kitties head out to California. Maybe they'll stop in Phoenix for dinner... Kachow!!!
My grandmother's cat was a giant, white polar bear of a cat. Sadly, he passed away just before Christmas, but I'm sure he's now singing along with Gordon somewhere....
Rest in peace, Jonah.
B.J. is the biggest and the strongest of all of The Kitties. Simon - who wishes for that same manly physique - tries to get in shape whenever he visits. So here, Simon tries with all of his might! And, B.J. is happy to help. Only 49 more to go.
Always interested in scientific advances, The Mother Kitty tries to break the human/cat communication barrier. Simon continues to be a mystery to everyone.
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday to spend with family because of the lazy long weekend, good food, and minimal shopping requirements. We have a big veggie meal (Long live the turkey!) and good pie.
Cozy indoors, we enjoy the aromas of our impending meal--the squash, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and gravy--and we find The Kitties playing in the backyard on one of the last warm days of the year.
The full trees have changed colors and the leaves are all on the verge of falling. The brisk wind gives the hint of winter, and we can almost see the snow on its way.
As we watch through the kitchen window with our hands wrapped around hot cups of tea, Simon suddenly realizes that there are plenty of laps available in the house for his next nap.
